Mrs. Plas' Virtual Classroom

Welcome to your on-line science classroom. I will use this website to inform you of what we did in class and also to remind you of important upcoming dates! I am so glad you are in my class this semester, and I look forward to discovering science with you! My goal is simple; to help you achieve yours!

Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.

What a cold and rainy day!!!  I’m definitely looking forward to the warm weekend now!!!  I hear temperatures will be in the 70’s with lots of sunshine!  I’m looking forward to working in my garden and getting some spring cleaning done!

In conceptual physics, we went into the computer lab and did an experiment with resistors in parallel.  You got a chance to see that the equations we talked about yesterday actually stand true for parallel circuits.  You did some calculations and once you were done, you handed the lab in.

In biology, today we started talking about learned behavior.  I lectured on the different types of learned behavior, including; conditioning, trial and error, insight, and habituation.  This was a lot of fun as we discussed the different types of learning that occur in our lives on a day to day basis!

And in physics, I gave you the first 5 minutes of class to complete the electric power worksheet I gave you yesterday.  We went over the answers and I took a grade on this sheet.  After that, I handed out the Chapter 19 review that you worked on for the rest of the period.  You will also have tomorrow to complete this worksheet and you WILL have the Chapter 19 exam on Tuesday of next week.  Remember that we don’t have class on Monday, so the test will be your first day back!

Have a great day, and try to stay dry!!
