Mrs. Plas' Virtual Classroom

Welcome to your on-line science classroom. I will use this website to inform you of what we did in class and also to remind you of important upcoming dates! I am so glad you are in my class this semester, and I look forward to discovering science with you! My goal is simple; to help you achieve yours!

Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.

What an awesome three-day weekend!!!  The perfect weather to get lots of work done outside!!  I love this time of year, and hopefully there’s more to come!!

In conceptual physics, we did a review over parallel and series circuits.  After the refresher course, we checked the worksheet that you did on Friday.  Then, I handed out another worksheet that covered both parallel and series circuits.  It could have been easy to get these two mixed up, but you did a great job keeping them straight!!  We corrected that worksheet and put it in the gradebook.

In biology, we started out by peer-evaluating the animal behavior unit.  After I entered your grades, we started out with a lab on the human nervous system.  I had you dropping meter sticks and recording your reaction time.  We then watched a video that discussed, more in depth, the nervous system in humans.  The video had a worksheet to go along with it, and after the video, we discussed the answers in class.

And in physics, today was test day!!! You took the Chapter 19 exam over resistance, current, and potential difference.  I gave you the first 15 minutes of class to go over old worksheets and review what you may have forgotten over break!  This exam was worth 61 points.

And don’t forget that today is Earth Day.  There are lots of ways to celebrate, so make sure you do something earth friendly today!!
