Thursday, April 24th
Welcome to Thursday!!! Hopefully you took advantage of the early out yesterday to enjoy the awesome weather!! I know it was getting pretty hot and stuffy in the school yesterday and you definitely needed some time in the fresh air!! Hopefully the school will get the air turned on in the next few days!
In conceptual physics, we started the day off with a video on lightning. I think this is such an interesting phenomena that occurs in nature, and it has lots to do with static electricity! I didn’t have you fill out any worksheets, as I just wanted you to watch and enjoy. After the video, we started on our parallel circuits review worksheet. This will be due tomorrow and we will take a grade. Your parallel circuits quiz will be during the second half of class tomorrow!!
In biology, we used today to review for the state standard exam tomorrow. I put up a review assessment on ANGEL and had you work on this quiz first. After you were done that, it was on to a crossword puzzle that I put together using the vocabulary from the chapters on animal behavior and the human nervous system.
In physics, I gave you the first 10 minutes of class to finish up the lab from yesterday. We discussed your results and then started discussing series circuits. Using your experimental data, we found that the current is just about the same at all points in a series circuit and that the potential difference across each resistor equals the total potential difference of the power supply. After we went over this data, I handed out a practice worksheet on series circuits.
Have a wonderful day!
