Good morning! Good luck to all of the athletes that will be competing at track and soccer today! And congratulations to the golfers who had an awesome showing at the York Invite yesterday! Can’t believe that districts and then state are just around the corner!
Today in conceptual physics, we researched a little about Apollo 11 and the NASA space program in general. I wanted you to get both sides of the story before you began forming opinions on whether or not we landed on the moon. I think NASA has done a very thorough job in answering all of the critic’s questions. The article that we read was actually written in response to the Fox show that we watched yesterday. Tomorrow, we will start watching “In the Shadow of the Moon” to finish off our NASA week!
In biology, we moved onto the bones in our body. We talked about the function of our skeleton and the four different types of bones. We also discussed bone marrow and the function of it in our bodies. I asked how many of you had broken bones at some point in your life, and then we tried to classify what time of fracture you had based on X-rays and descriptions from medical books. We ended class by discussing joints and the types of diseases that can affect your joints.
And in physics, we checked the practice problems that I gave you yesterday. I then assigned a worksheet on parallel circuits for a grade, and when you finished that, I had you do the 20-2 section review on page 745. Tomorrow, we will do the last lab of the year and we will use Thursday as a day for make-up labs.
Have a great Tuesday!
