Friday, May 2nd
Happy Friday! We finally made it; only two more Friday’s to go before the end of school!!! How exciting! Another bit of exciting news is the fact that the York Boys Soccer Team is headed to state!!! Be there and be loud!!! Congratulations!
In conceptual physics, we ended the week with a sweet treat Friday. I brought in donuts for you to enjoy as we watched the last bit of the movie “In the Shadow of the Moon.” I know, after this week, a lot of you have concerns regarding the moon hoax and if we actually did land on the moon. The purpose of this week was not to fill you with doubt, but rather to fill you with an urgency to know the truth. You have heard both sides of the story, and now it is up to you to use your scientific tools to decide what the truth is for you.
In biology, you handed in the packets that I gave you yesterday on muscles. This packet, including the worksheet and the crossword puzzle, will be worth 63 points in the gradebook and will be a great way to bring up a less than stellar grade. After you finished up and handed in the packets, I put on the video “The Human Body: Pushing the Limits.” We watched the episode on strength and how the bones and muscles work together to perform death defying feats.
And in physics, I handed out the 20-2 review. You will have today and Monday to finish up this review and your exam will be next Tuesday. After the exam, we will use the rest of our time together to review for your semester test.
I read an interesting article this morning, and am including it as a link. It asks the question, “Which is more addictive, sugar or cocaine?” It is very interesing and worth taking some time out to read it!! Have a wonderful weekend!
